UMass punter Logan Laurent named to the preseason Ray Guy Award watch list.

Old foe and 2017 opponent Georgia Southern was hit with NCAA sanctions for improper academic assistance.

More from the NCAA about the sanctions. The Eagles are still running their signature triple-option and have been highly successful with it since their move to the Sun Belt. They led the nation in rushing in 2015 averaging 363.0 yards/game. In 2015 the Eagles went 9-4 and nearly beat SEC power Georgia, losing in overtime. They crushed Bowling Green in the Go-Daddy bowl 58-27.

Michigan cancels a home-and-home series against Arkansas. Could UMass play the Hogs? Our 2018 September schedule is full, but we have two slots in 2019. UMass could drop Maine for a big money guarantee in Fayetteville.
